Leading to Win 2025: From Service to Society’s Future
We need to bridge the gap between our military and civilian populations. Join us to see how.
It’s more important than ever to keep a strong connection between our military and the people they serve. That’s why I’m proud to share that I have the honor of chairing this year’s planning committee for the 2025 Leading to Win Conference, happening this September in Austin, Texas.
I would love for you to join us the weekend of September 12th and/or share this opportunity with your friends and family that would be interested.
At my core, I’ve always been about building and convening. The purpose of Leading to Win is not to be just another nonprofit providing a product or service. Instead, it’s designed to be a convener—a place where all the different organizations working tirelessly to support our military, veterans, and families can come together, learn from each other, and build solutions that last.
What makes this event unique is the format. No long speeches, no endless panels—just real working sessions that get at the heart of America’s future. Every workshop ties back to one big question: how do we prepare people—and especially our kids—for the economy and society they’re inheriting?
The Workshops
Here’s a snapshot of the slate:
Entrepreneurship & Financing: From Battlefield to Boardroom and Franchise Forward to The Other Half of the Hustle (focused on military spouses), these sessions show how to turn ideas into companies, access capital, and create jobs.
Workforce & Career Development: Navigating Government Careers, Veteran Workforce Integration, and Reskilling for Emerging Industries connect today’s talent to tomorrow’s industries.
Education & Talent Pipelines: Internships and Fellowships and Using Your GI Bill for More Than School unlock pathways from service into lifelong learning.
Technology & Innovation: AI and Autonomy in National Defense, Cybersecurity Careers, and Texas’ Fast-Growing Sectors: Chips, Energy & Space point to the industries shaping the next century.
Health, Wellness & Resilience: Preventing Burnout and Veteran Mental Health and Resilience remind us that wellness is the foundation for leadership.
Policy & Advocacy: A New Chapter for VSOs and Texas as a Defense Innovation Hub explore how to shape institutions for the next generation.
Creative & Identity: Tell Your Story and Finding Your Tribe emphasize that transitions are about more than jobs—they’re about purpose and belonging.
Taken together, this agenda isn’t just about veterans. It’s about how America learns, works, and leads in a time of rapid change.
Who You’ll See in the Room
And it’s not just the workshops—it’s the people. At Leading to Win, you’ll meet:
The Rising Professional – veterans or spouses accelerating their career journey.
The Seasoned SME – subject matter experts ready to share insight.
The Service Member – Active Duty, Reserve, or Guard members (and spouses) exploring what’s next.
The VSO Representative – leaders shaping resources and programs.
Transitioning Service Members & Families – navigating the next chapter together.
The Great American Public – friends, neighbors, and family eager to learn and support.
That mix of voices is what makes this conference different. These conversations and collaborations ripple outward—strengthening communities, growing careers, and investing in the future we want our kids to inherit.
A change for the Great American Public to “Meet Your Army” in real life
One of the most exciting parts of the week will be Meet Your Army Day, taking place just outside the conference at Dell Diamond. This official Army event gives the public a rare, hands-on opportunity to see advanced equipment up close, meet Soldiers, and experience a day in their life. From climbing into vehicles to talking directly with service members, families and community members will get a better understanding of the people behind the uniform. While not formally part of the Leading to Win conference, it’s a powerful complement—bridging the gap between the military and the community it serves.
So if you know a subject-matter expert, a service member, or someone looking for their next chapter, please forward them this email and encourage them to attend. Because when we invest in helping those who’ve served succeed, we’re investing in America’s future.
